What is the Catedra SAES-UMU?

SAES (Sociedad Anónima de Electronica Submarina) signs with the University of Murcia (UMU) the Catedra SAES-UMU, a private initiative where a set of tools based on open-source software will be designed and developed. These tools will be used to validate different developments in the field of submarine electronics and acoustics, which is the main aim of SAES.

This Catedra SAES-UMU initiative is created in the context of the continuous improvement process of the company, paying special attention to increasing the current quality level of the internal software development processes. This initiative is based on several years of continuous collaboration between SAES and the University of Murcia, that since 2006 are collaborating in common projects and initiatives. This initiative is also the base for current and future research and knowledge transfer activities in the context of open source software and real time and critical applications and services.

SAES  http://www.electronica-submarina.com/ is the only Spanish company specialized in submarine electronics and acoustics. SAES has his principal offices in Cartagena (Murcia), South East of Spain, where the Spanish Navy has the main installation for submarines and Minehunters, including training schools and research centres. SAES is worldwide leader in the ASW segment, involved in the new submarines and surface vessels new programs as well as in the modernization of MPA for Spanish Navy and foreign navies.
